Assuring the future of fine gunmaking
ACGG Education Foundation Mission:
To increase learning within the custom gun field by offering scholarships and presenting educational opportunities and materials.
The American Custom Gunmakers Guild Education Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit charitable educational foundation, was formed in 2006. It is an entirely separate organization from the American Custom Gunmakers Guild, but affiliated in similar purposes and programs. Several members of the American Custom Gunmakers Guild serve on the Foundation’s board or advise on fundraising ideas and program development.
The Foundation is managed by a seven member Board of Directors including: Stephen Nelson, Bruce Farman, Anthony Fleming, Charles Grace, J. Peter Mazur, John Bohon and Sam Hauxwell. Jan Billeb serves as Executive Director.
To further its mission, the Foundation provides:
- Scholarships to gunsmithing students with an interest in custom work.
- Opportunities for current gunmakers to increase their knowledge and improve their skills.
Individuals and corporations are encouraged to support the Foundation by participating in the Benefactors’ Club.
Donations to the ACGG Education Foundation are tax-deductible as a charitable contribution.
The Foundation has available for sale wood blanks thanks to the generous donation of Larry and Brenda Potterfield, Midway, and forend pieces donated by Gordon Smith of Old Tree Gun Blanks.
